RIPPLE - MIGRAINE CARE
Ripple was created to remedy the current antiquated treatment for migraine, a debilitating illness experienced by millions of people around the world every day. Migraine affects more than one billion individuals each year across the globe, and is one of the most common neurological disorders, with a high prevalence and morbidity, especially among young adults and females.***
The current market for migraine care is dominated with sterile, unapproachable, medicalised products. Ripple is an approachable care system which offers preventative based treatments and a space to bring sufferers together.
The word-mark is inspired from the characteristics of aura - a common visual impairment many sufferers experience as an early symptom of migraine. The aura affects around 20% of migraine sufferers, blurring and distorting someone's vision, sometimes giving the sufferer a warning sign of an approaching attack. Blurring and distorting the logo, gives a distinctive look to the typography while becoming an esoteric marker among sufferers of this disease. Moreover the theme of an aura felt appropriate for Ripples key focus on preventative based care.
The campaign imagery purposely exposes the subject looking directly at the viewer, straight in the eye - a key area of pain in migraine attacks. When migraine attacks can feel especially isolating and lonely experiences, Ripple’s campaign has been designed to connect with sufferers on an intimate level - neutralising any cultural or social barriers.
